By car: about 100 km from Reykjavik, roughly 1.5 hours.

Take Route 1 towards Selfoss and turn onto Route 35 before the town. Carry on past Kerið and Reykholt, take Route 359 towards Flúðir, then join Route 30. The address is Hvammsvegur, 845 Flúðir. GetYourGuide's ticket page says 1 h 20 from Reykjavik, a little less than Guide to Iceland's figure.
Guests have private parking during opening hours, but not overnight. The pool runs no transport of its own. It says the bus between Selfoss and Flúðir is very limited, and it calls a taxi the most expensive way to come.
In winter, snow, ice and strong wind can slow the road or close it for a time, so check conditions first.
An old pool fed by hot springs, not the Blue Lagoon or the Sky Lagoon.
Locals call it Gamla Laugin. It dates from 1891, at Hverahólmi, a geothermal area near Flúðir, and calls itself Iceland's oldest swimming pool. The country's first swimming lessons were held here from 1909 to 1947, and after years of neglect it reopened on 7 June 2014.
Three hot springs supply all its water, which stays at 38 to 40 °C all year and is fully replaced within 24 hours. One of them, Litli Geysir, spouts every few minutes, and a path around the pool lets you watch. Stay on it: the springs can reach 100 °C.
The Blue Lagoon is another place altogether, near Keflavík Airport, and entry there starts at 11,990 ISK. The Sky Lagoon is close to Reykjavik.
The ticket if you have a car, a tour if you do not.
The ticket covers entry only. Tours add the road and the stops, at a higher price.

Yes, if you want a sure place: without a booking, the pool promises none.
Reservations go first come, first served, and the pool does not promise a place without one. Even with a booking you may have to wait when there is a queue, and outside the time you booked it does not guarantee entry.
In Flúðir, south Iceland, about 100 km from Reykjavik. It is a stop on many Golden Circle tours.
See the mapIf you buy as an individual on the pool's site, until closing time; the average stay is 1.5 to 2 hours. The tours here give you 1.5 or 2 hours.
Yes: 38 to 40 °C all year, says the pool. It advises regular breaks, and drinking water before, during and after.
It is a swimming pool, so you can, but diving, jumping and running are not allowed. Children aged 8 or younger must wear armbands, and anyone aged 16 or younger needs an adult with them.
You shower without a swimsuit first. Take off silver jewellery: the sulfur in the water can change its colour. You cannot bring food or drink in, and the bistro has snacks and drinks but no warm meals.
That depends on your day, and we cannot settle it for you. Adult entry is 4,500 ISK here, and from 11,990 ISK at the Blue Lagoon.
